On 20.02.2026, English teacher Serikkan A.E. conducted an open lesson with the students of Grade 5 “V”. The lesson focused on comparative and superlative adjectives. It began with a warm-up vocabulary activity where students recalled key terms. This stage used brainstorming and activating prior knowledge.
During the presentation stage, the teacher explained the rules using a PowerPoint presentation. The PPP method and direct instruction were applied, supported by examples and concept-checking questions.
In the practice stage, students completed individual exercises and then compared their answers, applying guided practice, peer assessment, and collaborative learning.
Next, students worked in groups on a gap-filling task, using cooperative learning and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT).
Finally, the lesson ended with a Kahoot game for revision, applying game-based learning and formative assessment.
